Who’s it for?

The Level 1 Award in Principles of Health and Safety within the Workplace is a half-day course aimed at all employees. It is intended for candidates already in workplaces and those who are preparing to start or return to work. It is also very useful for young people to raise their ability to identify and understand hazards when preparing for work experience and into employment. There are no prerequisites for this qualification other than to be over 14 years old. Arrangements are in place for special needs.

How is it assessed?

There is a half-hour 15-question multiple-choice test at the end of the course and you need 9 out of 15 to pass. Following the course you will be sent a Level 1 Award in Principles of Health and Safety within the Workplace certificate.
